How much does installation cost?
The cost of a basic 3m back-to-back installation starts from R 2,500 but can vary per project. Your selected dealer will send an installation quote tailored to your space, unit type and installation requirements.
What does the Installation cost include?
This service covers a standard back-to-back installation, where the indoor unit is mounted directly opposite the outdoor unit on an external wall. The installation includes:
- Up to 3 metres of refrigerant piping, drain pipe and cable.
- Outdoor mounting bracket (if required).
- Installation to a maximum height of 3 metres above ground level.
- Drilling of one hole for piping. (Holes will be filled, but not painted)
What does the installation exclude?
The installer will quote separately for any additional work or materials, which will include but not be limited to:
- Additional piping and cabling beyond 3 metres
- Travel if the installation is more than 30 km from the purchase location
- Electrical connection to the main switchboard
- Trunking to cover piping
- External isolators and additional electrical work required (see below)
- Any additional refrigerant piping, insulation, drain pipe and cable.
Are Isolator switches included in the Installation cost?
Isolator switches are mandatory according to regulations and are not included in the installation cost. A qualified electrician must install the isolator not more than 2metres from the condenser and within view of the condenser. The cost of this is in addition to the installation cost of the unit and must be paid directly to the electrician. Both indoor and outdoor units must be properly earthed. You can expect to pay between R1000 and R1500 in addition to your basic installation fee for this. This regulation is governed by the South African National Standards (SANS) 10142-1.

How do I determine the correct aircon size?
Room size is calculated by multiplying the room’s length by its width, then multiplying that figure by approximately 600 BTUs per square metre. Each unit on our website specifies the room size it is suitable for.
